Arcalee Millhollin was born August 29, 1944 and raised in the small Utah community of Indianola. Their living room was also the Indianola post office and her mother was the postmistress. Arcalee’s first marriage ended in divorce but she was blessed with three wonderful children. In the fall of 1976 she moved to Lander to cook in the Maverick restaurant owned by her sister Aleta (Lee) Hancock and husband Warren. While there she met Kermit Millhollin and they were wed on August 18, 1977. In 1984 she went to work at the hospital where she cooked for 23 years meeting many people that became lifelong friends.

Arcalee loved to travel with her family. They made numerous trips to Utah to visit with relatives and to see National Parks and other attractions around the west. In 1997 she, Kermit, and 16 of her relatives traveled to Switzerland to meet cousins that still live on the dairy farm her mother’s family immigrated from.

She served for many years on the Foot Committee for Lander’s Relay for Life and she was a volunteer for Help for Health Hospice, making lap quilts, afghans, and other items for patients.
In January of this year with was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. Fortunately, her battle with this terrible disease was short and she passed away quietly in her sleep in the evening on May 27.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Harold and Aleen Christensen, and her brothers; LaGrand, Paul, and Carl, all of Utah.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Kermit, her sons; Wayne and his wife Scharlene of Bath, North Carolina, and Wade and his wife Ann of Lander, Wyoming, her daughter Traci and her husband Josh of Lander, Wyoming, grandsons; Dyland and Braeden, granddaughters; Laura, Liddia, and Alex, sisters; Aleta Hancock of Riverton and Ella Mae Faux of Moroni, Utah, brothers; Lamont and Brent of Fairview, Utah.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Relay for Life or to Help for Health Hospice would be appreciated.
