“Suzie” Sarah Izora Ellis, life-long Fremont County resident, passed away on May 12, 2018. Born August 31, 1927 she was the youngest daughter of Clara and Reed Allen, Sr. She was preceded in death by her siblings; Betty Mast, T.C. Allen, Wilma Anspach, and Mike Allen and her parents.
Her life adventures included growing up in Lander and after high school, a time of living and working in the Napa Valley of California. She returned home to work as a dental assistant. In 1947 on November 19th she married Max Ellis. They continued to live and enjoy their lives in Lander on their ranch in Sinks Canyon.
Suzie and Max’s children, Janet and Kem, loved having their mom at home when the bus dropped them off at night.
Further adventures and Suzie’s favorites were being a ranch wife, a family sewing club, a 4-H and FFA mom, an egg delivery lady, a Pacific Power employee, a cook and cross-walk guard at South Elementary, Borner’s Garden Extension Club, her days working at the Thrift Shop and coffee with the girls.
Most important were Max, her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. No matter how far from Lander, they were always in her heart and on her mind.
Suzie was preceded in death by her husband Max in January 2017.
Survivors include daughter Janet Givens (Guy), and son Kem Ellis. Grandchildren; Chris Givens (Dayna), Hollis Givens (Tara), J.D. Ellis (Esther), and Lindsy Ellis Booth. Great-grandkids; Tanner, Josie, Gage, Baylie, Brylie, Tirzah, Bryce, Caleb, and Holt. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Suzie will be remembered for her gusto to “go” and her enthusiasm for life.
