Jeanette Deanne (Ward) Hershey, a long-time resident of Lander, Wyoming, peacefully went to be with her Heavenly Father on November 20, 2016, with her son, Craig, by her side. As per her request, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
Jeanette was born in Willows, California on April 22, 1940 to parents James and Loeva (Stone) Ward. Jeanette grew up in Willows, where she welcomed her four children into the world. She raised her children and worked for Pacific Bell until retirement. Soon after retiring, Jeanette moved to Lakeport, California where she met her husband, Richard. Their plan was to leave California in an RV, travel to middle of the Wyoming, explore all the towns, and settle in their favorite spot. Their first destination was Lander. It immediately felt like home and they never looked elsewhere, finding the perfect homestead to settle in. Jeanette had a few acres to play with in Lander and she loved gardening and animals. There was ample room for her cherished canine companions to roam. She is greatly missed by her loved ones, whom rejoice in her reunion with her parents and her brother Andy. She is survived by her sons, Paul and Craig; her daughters, Terry and Jennifer; her sisters, Mary Lou, Katie, Carlene, Darlene, and Elaine; her brothers, Edward and James Jr.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren living in California and Colorado.
